Newly released documents from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reveal early evidence and analysis four years ago in which U.S. government officials indicated that COVID-19 originated in Wuhan, China.
The House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic grilled EcoHealth Alliance’s President Peter Daszak on Wednesday morning, accusing him of misleading the federal government to obtain grants that funded virus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Perfectly timed to coincide with Anthony Fauci’s closed-door testimony before the US Congress, a recent bombshell report suggested, based on FOIA’d emails, that Shi Zhengli of the Wuhan Institute of Virology met with Fauci at his National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), outside Washington, in June 2017.
Given what we know now, a coronavirus pandemic that emerged out of Wuhan more than three years ago seems less like a coincidence.
A new Sky News Australia documentary reveals further evidence of the “orchestrated effort” to push the narrative that COVID-19 had natural origins, despite intelligence officials saying it “most likely” leaked out of the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
The revelation was that the virus was not a textbook virus but something far more threatening and terrible. It came from a research lab in Wuhan. It might in fact be a bioweapon.
“Anthony Fauci didn’t want the world to know he was secretly funding the Wuhan Lab because we weren’t supposed to be funding gain-of-function research,” Schmitt said. “He figured out a way to get around that through third parties.”
According to the records, on July 29, 2021, Morens wrote: “But today, to my total surprise, my boss Tony [Fauci] actually ASKED me to speak to the National Geographic on the record about origins. I interpret this to mean that our government is lightening up but that Tony doesn’t want his fingerprints on origin stories.”
According to BBC Radio 4, Gao said “you can always suspect anything” regarding the possible origin of SARS-CoV-2. “That’s science. Don’t rule out anything,” he said.
