When the weather went wild (and global warming never got a mention)

WE are told that the weather is worse than it’s ever been, and it’s because we’re doing nothing about the earth’s dangerously rising temperatures.

If that’s right, then the weather 30 years ago, for instance, would have been less dramatic, calmer, with a minimum of record-breaking. Was it like that? Here is a look at 12 months of weather, November 1992 to October 1993.

THERE is a growing controversy over the credibility, and indeed trustworthiness, of the Met Office’s UK temperature records, which are used to measure how much the climate has warmed, as well as announcing supposedly record and other high temperatures every time there is a heatwave.

Almost 500-mile-long lightning bolt crossed three US states

The bolt in 2020, extended a total of 477.2 miles (768 km) and spread across Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas.

The previous record was 440.6 miles (709 km) and recorded in Brazil in 2018.

Lightning rarely extends over 10 miles and usually lasts under a second.
