A Delaware court has ruled that state laws allowing for permanent absentee voting and early voting violate the state constitution. Lawfare has become a nationwide political tactic.
The Pennsylvania General Assembly passed Act 77, a “voter reform act” in October 2019, which brought new election procedures, such as no-excuse mail-in voting and ballot drop boxes. Since then, these procedures have been the subject of lawsuits around the state.
As the Georgia General Assembly advances a bill to further restrict private money from bankrolling elections—as occurred with Facebook billionaire Mark Zuckerberg’s grants in the 2020 elections—congressional Republicans are reintroducing a similar measure.
Instead of ending this failed pilot program, Utah legislators are now considering a bill to expand ranked-choice voting to primary elections for state and federal office.
The long-awaited decision comes more than a year after the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) argued the case before the Minnesota Supreme Court on Nov. 30, 2021, in hopes of restoring voting rights to more than 50,000 people in the state with active felony records, local Fox News affiliate Fox 9 reported.
A Georgia judge on Monday agreed to have the ballot return deadline extended for about 1,000 Cobb County absentee voters who didn’t have their requested mail ballots sent out by elections officials.
