The REAL ID Act will be enforced nationwide in all 50 states beginning Wednesday, May 7.
Starting that day, every adult boarding a commercial domestic flight or entering certain secure federal facilities will need to present a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or another form of accepted identification such as a U.S. passport.

Utah is among the handful of states that conduct primarily postal elections, and the current practice is that every voter is automatically mailed a ballot. But that’s about to change, under a bill recently passed by the state Legislature, which Gov. Spencer Cox’s office tells us he plans to sign.

A total of 36 states have some form of ID requirement to vote, although only 22 require photo IDs, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.
