Socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro declared on Monday that the primary election held by the Venezuelan opposition on Sunday was a “fraud” and part of a “coup” plot against him.
Russia isn’t parked, Iran isn’t pacified, and both are coordinating strategies with China.
Two years later, the Biden administration is struggling to manage the failure of its original design.

Republican lawmakers and some of Biden’s fellow Democrats who oppose any softening of U.S. policy toward Maduro have blasted the U.S. approach to Venezuela as too one-sided.
“At a time when the Biden administration is restricting domestic energy, he’s giving the [Venezuelan] dictator [Nicolás] Maduro the green light,” said Mike Gonzalez, host of the May 31 event “Cuba and Venezuela Policy in Biden’s America Last Agenda.”
President Biden is scrambling to contain soaring oil prices, which closed at more than $123 a barrel on Monday. It speaks volumes about this Administration that it’s seeking help from Vladimir Putin’s client in Venezuela and our estranged Saudi allies rather than U.S. shale producers or our Canadian friends.
Colombian national Alvaro Pulido Vargas and four others were charged on Oct. 21 by the Department of Justice. They were accused of bringing Venezuelan government officials to obtain inflated contracts to import and distribute food and medicine through a state-run program called CLAP.
