Large crowds gathered in central London on Monday to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth II as she made her final journey from Westminster to Windsor.
It was a day when people stood still – on the streets and in their homes – to witness Queen Elizabeth II’s final journey.
It will be a day of emotion, pomp and ceremony the like of which has not been seen since the last state funeral, of Winston Churchill, almost 60 years ago. The Queen made personal additions to the plans, Buckingham Palace has said.
Life will come to a standstill for millions as the UK says goodbye to Queen Elizabeth II.
Her state funeral will take place at Westminster Abbey in London at 11:00 BST, with 2,000 people in attendance.
