California’s Democrat Party elites are feeling the burn of their own failures to protect their state from devastating, uncontrolled fires. No politician’s reputation has been sullied as much as Gov. Gavin Newsom’s.
Despite their fervent belief that climate change will have catastrophic consequences, Democrats in California perennially underinvest in water storage and land management. Then when catastrophic fires, water shortages or floods happen, Democrats blame climate change as if there is nothing they could do about any of it. What the state really needs is a political climate change.
The warning phrase ‘go woke, go broke’ needs an update: adopt woke policies and you are in serious danger of losing everything as your house and neighbourhood are destroyed in a wildfire and you can do nothing as for some reason the hydrants are dry.
It seems instead of addressing these core problems, Newsom is trying to avoid responsibility for the disastrous fires spreading across Los Angeles. By rasking Biden — who is in command of CISA, the Department of Homeland Security’s online censorship hub — to squelch “misinformation,” Newsom might be seeking to reduce his poor publicity.
