“In light of the imminent end of our investigation, the Select Committee can no longer pursue the specific information covered by the subpoena,” Democrat Mississippi Rep. Bennie Thompson wrote in a letter to Trump’s attorney, CNN reported.
The January 6 special committee on Wednesday decided to withdraw its subpoena of former President Trump as it concludes its work.
“Why didn’t Crazy Nancy Pelosi call out the ‘troops’ before January 6th, which I strongly recommended that she do. It was her responsibility, but she ‘didn’t like the look.’ Crazy Nancy failed the American People!” he wrote Thursday afternoon.
“Despite very poor television ratings, the Unselect Committee has perpetuated a Show Trial the likes of which this Country has never seen before,” Trump wrote in the letter to chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), adding that his “memo is being written to express our anger, disappointment, and complaint that with all of the hundreds of millions of dollars spent on what many consider to be a Charade and Witch Hunt.”
