I discovered that the US Covid pandemic response was not a public health response run by the HHS, CDC or any other public health body. Instead, it was a biodefense/counter-terrorism response, run by the Pentagon, National Security Council, and Department of Homeland Security.

Justice Samuel Alito excoriated the Supreme Court majority for “shirk[ing]” its duty to restrain the government’s coercive censorship efforts in “one of the most important free speech cases” to reach the high court in years.
Americans will have to wait for another case to affirm First Amendment limits on federal power.
The dissent concludes that the government’s censorship “was blatantly unconstitutional, and the country may come to regret the Court’s failure to say so.”
Much of this country already does.

A bunch of wealthy corporate authoritarians, and politicians who had dinners with them, decreed that emergency rule was the preferred form of governance.
The agency launched the program as a means of complying with Executive Order 14019, a directive signed by Biden in March 2021 ordering hundreds of federal agencies to interfere in state and local election administration by using taxpayer dollars to engage in voter registration and get-out-the-vote activities.
