Imagine if you went to Hollywood trying to attract investors for the following movie plot: an incompetent, unethical, but politically ambitious local district attorney criminally indicts a former president (of the opposition political party) and some of his political allies in an abusive prosecution.
A judge has given Georgia lawmakers the power to subpoena District Attorney Fani Willis in their inquiry into her alleged misconduct in Trump’s election case.
‘We conclude that it erred by failing to disqualify DA Willis and her office,’ the state’s court of appeals writes.
A court ordered Willis to conduct a ‘diligent search’ and produce any copies of ’responsive records.’
Fulton County DA Fani Willis sent a scathing letter to the GOP-led House Judiciary Committee demanding that her lover, Nathan Wade, whom she had hired to spearhead the prosecution of former President Donald Trump on Georgia RICO charges, should not have to answer certain questions before Congress, because the proceedings could compel Wade to “improperly divulge confidential information.”
The House Judiciary Committee has so far been unable to locate Nathan Wade in order to serve him a subpoena, a spokesperson told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
The state court will hear arguments on Dec. 5, or about a full month after the presidential election, according to court documents. The court initially set an Oct. 4 date for arguments.
This comes as the court has agreed to review whether Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis should be disqualified.
