A growing number of Republicans are calling on the federal government to provide more information about a Chinese balloon that traversed across the United States earlier this year before U.S. Air Force planes shot it down.
It turns out the blimp was transmitting information to Beijing in real time.
This is a Sidewinder missile through the White House-Pentagon talking points at the time, namely that the balloon didn’t present a big intelligence risk and couldn’t suck up better information than Chinese satellites in low-earth orbit.
Pentagon official Colin Kahl leaked classified information about Chinese spy balloons to deflect blame on the Biden administration’s mishandling of a similar spy balloon in U.S. airspace last month, according to two Republican senators.
“If it’s true the Pentagon purposely did NOT tell President Trump of Chinese Spy Balloons during his administration then we had a serious breach in command during the Trump admin,” Greene said on Twitter.
The Biden Administration should be helping Americans understand that reality rather than patting itself on the back with mission-accomplished briefings.
