IT seems that every time a hurricane comes along, it is claimed to be the worst, biggest, strongest or wettest ever. It was the same with Hurricane Helene last week. The BBC described it as the ‘one of the biggest ever to hit the Gulf Coast’, while Sky called it ‘one of the most powerful ever recorded in the US’. It was nothing of the sort.
