Despite promises from President Joe Biden and top health officials that COVID-19 vaccines would prevent severe illness, death, and perhaps even transmission of the virus, data indicate that thousands of Americans are dying from the illness even after having been vaccinated.
A federal judge in Texas on Friday blocked President Biden’s mandate for federal workers to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in the latest blow to the White House’s vaccination efforts.
Now, thanks to the omicron variant, hot spots are everywhere. The first states to see rising cases were also those with high vaccination rates, including Vermont, Massachusetts and New York

Former president Donald Trump was effusive in his praise for the coronavirus vaccines in a recent interview with the Daily Wire’s Candace Owens, telling Owens that “the vaccine is one of the greatest achievements of mankind.”
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), whose director is on the White House COVID-19 team, “Vaccinated people can still become infected and have the potential to spread the virus to others, although at much lower rates than unvaccinated people.”
In a Dec. 3 ruling, the 6th Circuit Court denied the government’s motion to transfer the case to the 5th Circuit and the D.C. Circuit, while also rejecting as “moot” the Biden administration’s attempt to overturn a hold on the mandate.
