Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy said Wednesday on Fox News that lawmakers were only able to see a portion of the budget because President Joe Biden allegedly “walled off’ the rest during debt ceiling negations.
The House of Representatives can vote on the bill no earlier than Wednesday, May 31 due to a rule giving members 72 hours to review all pieces of legislation before leadership can schedule votes.
The president and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy have not come to an agreement over raising the debt ceiling and spending cuts as their respective teams continue negotiations.
Welp, it looks like Democrats in Congress are starting to regret having a president who was praised by many and supported by none for nearly 50 years in the Oval Office.

Biden met with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R., Calif.) Monday evening to try to break the impasse. McCarthy has said a deal must be reached this week to have time for the legislation to pass Congress.
Led by President Joe Biden, Democrats have deployed at least seven false, misleading, or nonsensical claims over the past few weeks to pressure McCarthy into caving in. However, most of those arguments fall apart quickly.
That money belongs to taxpayers and should be reclaimed without delay.

The White House press secretary is apparently unaware that regular order would entail Senate Democrats passing a bill and then negotiating with House Republicans, who have already passed a bill raising the debt ceiling by $1.5 trillion into 2024.
A fight between Republicans and Democrats over the debt limit ceiling could send the U.S. economy into a recession even if the standoff doesn’t actually trigger a debt default, analysts say – and a much worse downturn with perhaps 7.5 million people thrown out of work if it does.
